Mayor Gorton proclamation remembering Father Norman Fischer








LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Mayor Linda Gorton will honor the life and legacy of Father Norman Fischer today, proclaiming July 15 as Father Norman Day. Fischer, pastor of Saint Peter Claver Church and chaplain at Lexington Catholic High School, died unexpectedly on July 15, 2024.


The proclamation ceremony begins at 9 a.m. in the Government Center on East Main Street. Additional commemorations include an art gallery showcasing Fischer’s work, a children’s book launch on Saturday, and a birthday fundraiser gallery event on August 20.
