Surviving when the SHTF

Test Post/Blog:

If you had to live in a post-apocalyptic world, what would you bring? What would you do to survive? Well, it heavily depends on the type of apocalypse, I'm going to assume it was some kind of war of apocalyptic event that wiped out a lot of humanity, but didn't poison/irradiate the planet, create zombies or spread a deadly virus, so no hazard protection or major combat.

I would only carry the bare essentials I need to survive, so some kind of weapon effective against human threats, optimally a hand gun with maybe 3 magazines of 9mm, but a knife would sufice if I am unable to find one, I would need some weapon useful for hunting wild, 2 or 3 short spears/homade javelins should be more than sufficient.

Next would me something to create drinking water, a couple of compact filters, like lifestraws should work, but some distillery system would be even better, possibly made out of spare bottles.

Then something to cook with, 1 or 2 pots, something to mount them on, Firestarters, or, if available, an camping grill and something to eat out of, just out of my hands would work in a pinch however.

A tent and sleeping bag would be vital, as death by exposure is my primary concern, my clothes should be functional, so something reasonably water tight and insulating, I would definitely take my super powerfull emisar d4v2 for light, and, if available, I would get some portable solar panel to recharge it, my, by far, most important carry item would however be my USB containg the entirety of Wikipedia, 500 or the most important pieces of literature, information pertaining to farming and medicine, several basic and advanced technological blue prints, and selected videos, the rest of space in my backpack would be reserved for whatever books I can find, and a pen and book to write a diary.

My backpack and gear would weigh around 25-30 kg, which is a lot, but still low enough to travel about 20-30 kilometers in a day with.

My main concern would be finding as many other survivors as possible, getting some village or base established, and dedicating the first couple years to getting some permanent food supply established, then I would revert to using the vast amount of knowledge I carry with me (assuming I can find a generator) to educate the base about the world before the end, and focus on slowly re-establishing human society from the ground up, and quickly advancing to a point where we can again produce some things en mass.

The main takeaway is that I'd die 2 days in lol.
