Mule-Riding Hillbilly Wins MeatEater 2025 Turkey Calling Contest

It was a hard-fought battle, but in the end, Clay Newcomb beat out Brent Reaves to become MeatEater's best turkey caller (at least, until next year's competition).

In this championship round, the contestants were asked to deliver their best turkey gobble. Brent gave it his best shot, but Clay's effort proved to be the most authentic, which won him a whopping 65% of the final vote.

In honor of Clay's victory, MeatEater will donate $500 to the National Wild Turkey Federation, the country's premier turkey conservation organization.
