Happy Birthday Broadhead

Broadheads are incredibly important, and every game animal deserves your best shot and most ethical demise.  The fact that Grim Reaper has been around for 25 years says a great deal about the dependability and lethality of their product.  Many hunters switch broadheads every year, always searching for the next best thing, yet for the loyal followers of Grim Reaper, they know the devastating results of these amazing heads and can’t ask for more.

I Watched Him Drop

Last year, I spent Halloween hunting in Central West Virginia and had a respectable 6-point buck chase a doe past my stand.  I wasn’t able to get a shot, but slowed it down several times with grunt calls as he followed a doe over a ridge and out of sight.  Half an hour later, I was delighted to see that the buck returned and began sniffing the ground 25 yards away.  When the buck turned broadside, I launched a Whitetail Special that caught the buck squarely in the boiler room.  The deer seemed to shudder, took several steps, and fell over.  As you can see from the photograph, the impact of three massive blades opening on impact dispatched the buck in seconds.

American Made

Many broadheads are made in China, where performance tolerances don’t meet American standards, and possibly with slave labor.  Jay Liechty is the founder and owner of Grim Reaper, dedicating his life to quality construction and innovation.  “I take great pride in Grim Reaper being family owned and operated to maintain the quality that all expect,” says Liechty.  “I want to thank all members of the Grim Reaper team in and outside the factory for our continued success.”

Better Value

Grim Reaper broadheads are often sold in 4-packs at the same price as competitors charge for just three heads.  “We began by offering a practice head in a pack of three, but our customers asked for four premium heads instead,” says Liechty.  “We listened, and that’s how our products are sold.”  Variety is a huge selling point as well.  Grim Reapers are available in fixed three- and four-blade designs, three-blade expandables that feature massive channels on impact, and a hybrid model that offers massive expandable cutting in addition to a fixed blade —the best of both worlds.  Broadheads are offered in 100-grain, 125-grain, and 150-grain weights, and some are designed exclusively for crossbows.
