In the third installment of my Women of Team GLOCK series for The WON, I had the privilege of interviewing Ashley Robertson, a seasoned competitor who has been part of Team GLOCK for nearly a decade. At just 27 years old, Ashley is already a powerhouse in the shooting sports world, known for her precision, poise and dedication to personal excellence.

Ashley's journey into competitive shooting began at the age of 12 or 13, when she started training alongside her father. That early exposure evolved into a deep passion, ultimately leading to her dream opportunity of joining Team GLOCK. Her path is a powerful reminder that success in this sport doesn't require a flashy entrance. It requires commitment, consistency and the courage to keep showing up.

I first met Ashley many years ago. She's always been soft-spoken, but her presence speaks for itself. She has made a name for herself and blazed a trail that commands respect. Her skill, dedication and quiet strength, paired with her patience for both herself and others, are truly inspiring.

Getting to Know Ashley Robertson

Q: Can you describe your experience getting on Team GLOCK?

Ashley: Many people ask about this. I’ve been on the team for eight or nine years now. Time really blends together. When I was first starting out, social media wasn't a significant part of the shooting scene. It was all about performance, how well you shot and how you placed.

I spent those early years training hard and staying focused. Then, one year at SHOT Show, I ended up at the GLOCK booth chatting with some friends. One conversation led to another, and the next day I had a meeting. Not long after that, I got a contract. It all happened really fast, and I was so young. It felt surreal.

Q: What advice would you give to women who want to get into pistol shooting and competitions?

Ashley: First, learn everything you can. A lot of people are unfamiliar with firearms and don't always know how to handle them safely. GLOCK offers great resources to help with that. The more educated you are, the more confident you'll feel.

Second, just go for it. Like anything new, that first step can feel scary, but it's so worth it. Grab a few friends, head to the range, and have fun with it. The fear fades once you start.

Q: What is your favorite GLOCK pistol and why?

Ashley: It honestly changes weekly. But I really love my GLOCK 34 Gen5 MOS. That's what I use for competition, both with a red dot and iron sights. I also love the GLOCK 43X. It's my everyday carry and it's great for home defense too. It's just a well-rounded pistol.

Q: Who or what inspired your love for shooting?

Ashley: Definitely my family, especially my dad. We got into this together when I was young, and it's always been something we've shared. That bond shaped a lot of who I am today.

Q: What do you love most about the shooting sports community?

Ashley: I love that everyone is constantly trying to be their best. Sure, it's competitive, but at the end of the day, it's really about personal growth. After every stage or match, we're all thinking about how to improve, how to beat our own best. That mindset is what I appreciate most.

Q: What are your goals for 2025?

Ashley: From a competition perspective, I've got Nationals coming up soon, so I'm focused on performing well there and finishing the year strong. I have several matches and events lined up, so I want to stay locked in.

On a personal level, I'm just working on being the best version of Ashley I can be. Life is always changing, so I'm staying open and doing the work to grow.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share?

Ashley:  I love seeing how many women are stepping into the sport now. I've been to matches where I was the only woman on the range, and now I see so many of us out there competing. It's incredibly encouraging. Keep showing up, ladies.
