Rowan County deputies searching for a missing man

MOREHEAD, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating a missing man who hasn’t been seen in three months.

Deputies say 50-year-old Jonathan Ploof was last seen on August 3 near the Burger King and Walmart in Morehead. Investigators say Ploof had been camping in the Daniel Boone National Forest off KY 377 and did not have a vehicle, often walking along the highway to leave his campsite.

Ploof is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 190 pounds, with brown hair and a goatee.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at (606) 784-5446.
