2025 Fall Fashions Trends and Concealed Carry

It’s been hot and humid in Ohio this summer. Add to that a trip to Florida in July (whose idea was that?), imagine how excited I was about a few days and evenings with cool enough temperatures to sleep with the windows open, low humidity and days in the low-to-mid-70s. This glorious break in the weather has me thinking about fall fashion trends, which in turn triggers thoughts on how the outfits will work for concealed carry. As many women know, if we want to carry on-body, we need to make sure we have the right outfit to work with our holster or vice versa. It’s all about not printing and keeping our secret.

To discover what fashions are “in” for the 2025 fall season, I did a little online research to find out what styles may make a difference when you’re carrying on-body.

Fall Fashion Trends

Vogue listed three trends for fall, with one being very promising for concealing a pistol. Referred to in the article as “Nomadic Spirit,” this Bohemian-inspired look includes jackets layered over flowing blouses. Both of these pieces provide perfect coverage for both inside and outside-the-waistband holsters.

Of the trends listed on the Marie Claire website, I found the following two important to mention:

• Sporty Bottoms – Since these typically feature elastic waistbands or drawstrings to keep them in place, you can’t rely on them to support the weight of your gun in its holster. A few good options are the PHLster Enigman or a belly band, such as Galco’s Underwraps Belly Band 2.0 and CrossBreeds Modular Belly Band 2.0.

• Leopard Print – Yes, apparently animal prints are back in style, and we all know fabric with prints makes it so much easier to keep your gun from printing.

Glamour seconded the boho look and added “town and country chic” to the list. This style features faded plaids, thick outerwear and other items reminiscent of what one would expect to see someone wearing while strolling through the English countryside.

The InStyle website featured some unusual styles, including shoulder pads, transparent overlays on coats and padlock accessories. Weird! However, on a positive note, along with animal prints, polka dots are also on trend, as are long coats and belts – all excellent choices for maintaining your secret of carrying concealed.

Regardless of whether you decide to purchase new outfits or just add new pieces, consider how each item will work with your concealed carry lifestyle. Perhaps you’re ready to try a different type of holster, such as the belly band or PHLster Enigma. If that’s the case, use an unloaded gun, ensure it fits properly and securely, and then practice drawing it before actually carrying it. Also, try on your new outfits while wearing your firearm in front of a full-length mirror to check for printing. Or better yet, have a friend over for a mini fashion show and have her watch as you walk, sit and move around in various positions to see if your gun remains hidden.

I’m not rushing summer to its end, but it is fun to shop for new outfits, especially from the comfort of my front porch.
