Deadly crash under investigation in Mercer County

MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police and Harrodsburg Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened Friday night in Mercer County.

According to investigators, the crash occurred just after 6 p.m. on U.S. 68 near Chin Lane and Curry Pike. Police say a 2001 Chevy Tahoe driven by 43-year-old Joseph Vineyard of Danville went off the road and hit a tree.

His passenger, 38-year-old Danielle Vineyard, also from Danville, died at the scene.

U.S. 68 was closed for several hours but has since reopened. The Harrodsburg Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
