From Pantry Chat to Everyday Homesteading

We have some big news to share with you! After nearly seven years and more than 250 episodes, we’ve wrapped up The Pantry Chat Podcast. But don’t panic! This isn’t the end of our conversations together. In fact, it’s the beginning of something new, something we’re really excited about: the Everyday Homesteading Podcast.

A man and woman in the garden.

We want to take a moment to reflect on where we’ve been, share what’s happening on the homestead right now, and give you a peek at what’s coming next.

Why We Started the Pantry Chat

When we first launched Pantry Chat, our YouTube channel was full of practical “how-to” videos like how to can beef, how to raise egg-laying chickens, and how to make herbal tinctures. But again and again, we found ourselves wanting to go deeper, to talk about the “why” behind the skills.

Homesteading isn’t just a checklist of tasks; it’s a lifestyle, a mindset, and even a cultural movement. Skills are important, but those skills don’t reach their full potential without the bigger picture (like understanding food safety, systems thinking, and how to weave these practices into a busy modern life).

Pantry Chat was born out of a desire to have those deeper conversations, to sit down with you over a cup of coffee and talk about how homesteading actually plays out in everyday life.

A Big Announcement: Everyday Homesteading Podcast

So why are we shifting from Pantry Chat to Everyday Homesteading? The answer is simple: accessibility.

We realized that if someone is searching for “homesteading” in their podcast app, Pantry Chat doesn’t even show up. We don’t want to make it hard for folks who are hungry for answers and skills to find encouragement and inspiration.

The new name, Everyday Homesteading, better reflects what we’re all about: making homesteading practical, doable, and integrated into the modern life you’re already living.

Don’t worry, the heart of the show isn’t changing. You’ll still get the two of us sitting down together, sharing the deeper side of homesteading, encouraging you in your journey, and giving you practical tips along the way.

But with this relaunch, we’re also making the podcast easier to find, more discoverable, and more helpful to those who are just starting out.

How You Can Help

A family in the garden celebrating.

We’re taking a short four-week break to get things set up, and then on October 18, we’ll be back with five brand-new episodes to kick off the Everyday Homesteading Podcast.

If you’ve been blessed by Pantry Chat over the years, we’d love your help in making this transition a success by inviting you to join our launch team.

Being part of our launch team includes:

  • Downloading and listening to the new episodes when they drop

  • Leaving a rating and review in your podcast app

  • Sharing the podcast with friends and family who are searching for a simpler, healthier, more meaningful way of life

To sweeten the deal, we’re also doing some giveaways (because you know we love giveaways!). You’ll find all the details here.

As we close the Pantry Chat chapter, we can’t help but feel grateful. Grateful for nearly seven years of conversations. Grateful for the thousands of families who’ve joined us on this journey. And grateful that we get to keep walking alongside you in this next season.

Everyday Homesteading is just the next step in a shared vision. To equip and inspire you with the skills, wisdom, and encouragement you need to thrive. Whether you’re on 40 acres with a herd of cows or in an apartment with a couple of herbs on the windowsill, you’re part of this movement.

Thank you for being here. We’ll see you soon on the Everyday Homesteading Podcast!
