Laurel County coroner identifies victim in deadly U.S. 25 crash





LONDON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Authorities have released the name of the man who died in a deadly crash Monday night in Laurel County.


The coroner’s office says 87-year-old Edward Queen of London was killed in the collision. According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 9:10 p.m. on U.S. 25 near Lily, about six and a half miles south of London.


Deputies say the roadway was shut down for several hours as crews investigated and cleared the scene. U.S. 25 reopened to traffic around midnight.


The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
