Dead Air Silencers Releases Limited Edition DAXE Winkler Knives Collab

Dead Air Silencers has made available 16 remaining units from a limited 50-piece collaboration with Winkler Knives. The product, designated the DAXE, was originally released as a Blade Show exclusive and is now offered through Dead Air’s Asylum member program at $630 per unit.

Dead Air Coverage on AllOutdoor

The DAXE combines a tactical axe design with an integrated wrench feature. A 3/4-inch wrench cutout in the handle base is dimensioned to fit the wrench flats on Dead Air muzzle devices, providing a dual-purpose tool for field use.

Technical Specs

  • Overall length: 13.125 inches
  • Handle length: 6.75 inches
  • Head width: 6 inches
  • Cutting edge: 3 inches
  • Steel type: 80CrV2
  • Steel thickness: 0.248 inches
  • Handle material: 0.25-inch black canvas laminate
  • Finish: Caswell black oxide with penetrating sealer
  • Construction: Skeletonized full tang

The axe ships with a purpose-built carrier system featuring 0.09-inch Boltaron thermoplastic construction with felt lining. The retention system uses HD shockcord with a quick-release mechanism, while nylon belt straps equipped with Mil-Spec Pull-The-Dot snaps provide attachment options. 80CrV2 is a spring steel composition typically selected for applications requiring high toughness and impact resistance. The black oxide finish treatment reduces reflectivity while providing corrosion protection.

Winkler Knives, based in North Carolina, specializes in tactical and utility edged weapons. The company’s products have been adopted by various military and law enforcement units. This collaboration represents Dead Air’s first venture into edged weapons, though both companies share similar customer demographics within the tactical and firearms communities.

DAXE

The limited production run of 50 units, with serial numbers 26-50 still available, positions the DAXE as a collectible item in addition to its functional applications. Dead Air’s Asylum program provides early access to limited releases and exclusive products for members. Availability is limited to the remaining 16 units from the original production run.
