Women of Team GLOCK: Meet Callerina Woodard

In the second installment of my Women of Team GLOCK series at The WON, I had the pleasure of interviewing Callerina Woodard, a rising star who joined the team in 2023. A full-time chiropractor, wife and devoted mom, Callerina is proof that it’s possible to pursue high-level competition while managing career, family and purpose.

its time for your next glock pistol

Callerina grew up around firearms, but her journey into shooting sports began thanks to the encouragement of her best friend, Roe. That push sparked what would become a deep love for competitive shooting and eventually led her to Team GLOCK. Since joining, she’s experienced significant personal and athletic growth.

I first met Callerina at SHOT Show last year, and from the moment we connected, I knew her story needed to be shared. Her authenticity, determination and passion for both shooting and wellness are truly inspiring.

Q: Can you describe your experience getting on Team GLOCK?

Callerina: The experience has been amazing. The team is filled with incredible athletes, and our Team Captain, Shane, has been such a huge help in shaping me into a stronger, more confident competitor. Since joining, I’ve improved so much and it has been a game-changer.

Q: What advice would you give to women who want to get into pistol shooting and competitions?

Callerina: Start by getting comfortable with your firearm. If you already own one, take the time to learn everything about it. If you’re shopping for one, go to a range and try different models to find what feels natural and safe in your hands. I also recommend working with an instructor who can help you build a solid foundation, which will give you so much confidence.

Q: What is your favorite GLOCK pistol and why?

Callerina: The G19X. It’s been my go-to for years. I’ve tried other models, like the G45 MOS, but I always come back to the G19X. It fits my hand perfectly and performs consistently under pressure.

Q: Who or what inspired your love for shooting?

Callerina: Roe – my best friend. He’s the one who introduced me to competitive shooting. He saw something in me before I saw it in myself. His belief, support and encouragement are what made me fall in love with this sport.

Q: What do you love most about the shooting sports community?

Callerina: There’s a beautiful balance of competition and camaraderie. Everyone wants to win, but at the same time, they genuinely want to see each other succeed. It’s a tight-knit community that supports one another. If you’re struggling, there’s always someone willing to help or share advice. That mutual support is what makes it so special.

Q: What are your goals for 2025?

Callerina: I want to stay on top of the podium and compete as much as possible, especially at the national championship. I also want to continue growing my chiropractic practice and advancing in functional medicine. Most importantly, I want to keep involving my family in this journey because it means the world to have them cheering me on.

Q: Do you have any advice for moms interested in shooting sports?

Callerina: Don’t count yourself out just because you have children. It would be easy to stay home or skip range time, but doing that means you’re not showing up as your full self. I need to be my whole self for my son. He often comes to the range with us. We are always safe and well away from the line, but he’s been a part of this journey from day one. Being a mom doesn’t mean you stop pursuing your passion. You can do both.

Skip’s Takeaway

It was truly an honor to sit down with Callerina. Her presence reminds us that women can—and do—excel in male-dominated spaces, all while raising families and running businesses. She embodies balance, grace and grit. Callerina is not only competing at a high level, she’s redefining what’s possible for working moms in sport. I can’t wait to watch her dominate in 2025. I hope you’ll follow along and show her the support that she deserves.
